I am the person who rewrites quotes by hand just to feel them differently. Who saves sentences on her phone like keepsakes. Who brings characters into conversation like mutual friends, who finds a passage so alive it has to be shared immediately. For me, books don’t end when I close them. They continue—in how I think, what I notice, how I move through the world. Books come through me, and then back out into the world in new ways. That’s what this is.

This is not a book review site. It’s not a list of recommendations or a ranking of the best reads of the year. There are plenty of those, and they are not this. This is a space for people who want to live with books. Who want to read with intention, with curiosity, with a highlighter in one hand and a pen in the other. Who believe (as I do) that reading is not a hobby. It’s a practice. A way of being.

I believe curiosity is a birthright. Not something reserved for academics or intellectuals or people with the right degrees. Learning doesn’t end when school does. It begins. And every single one of us has the right to design our own intellectual life, and choose what we study, what we wonder about, what we spend our precious attention on. To limit learning is to limit something fundamental about being alive. I want to help you remember that.

I believe reading together is better than reading alone. The most alive I have ever felt was in conversation. Sitting at a table full of people trading ideas, challenging each other, or discovering that someone else is also obsessed with that author, that poem, that fact. That kind of community doesn’t have to end after university. We can build it ourselves, on our own terms, around the things that actually fascinate us. That’s what I’m building here.

So here’s what you’ll find in this space: The books that are moving through me right now. The sentences I can’t stop thinking about. Reflections on what people who gather here love and hate. Prompts to help you read more actively. Essays on imagination, learning, and what it means to take your own mind seriously. And eventually, a community of people doing the same. You don’t have to be a “reader.” You just have to be curious.

Welcome to Primary Source. Let’s be fascinated together.
